Dreamscapes reflect a direct passage into my turbulent emotional nature. The acceptance of life as a gift, to sense the world as i wish to see it are thematic in my work. My paintings evolve to a place i imagine-bringing order through abstraction. The mind is a wonderful tool to paint-pictures translate with trial and error-the best effects are from the unexpected so i give the line some play to catch something startling or gentle trying not to overwork it where the glimmer goes away. Things seemed so complex in my stormy youth-my life as in my paintings become simpler more serene in this my golden age.

crystal wands
glistening like sunlight through deciduous trees
clearwater rocks as icicles upon evergreens
the interlocking clock of time to know
the wonder of our earthly home
as rome wasn't built in a day
life isn't written in stone
the life-force is as powerful a tool as the sun
as brilliant as the planets in conjunction with the stars
to not give up the battle till it's won
to neutralize the energy reaching far
to make us one with God
to feel the love
i begin to believe
in a rarity welcoming relief
without despair nor faint of heart
except to say
accept the day
my better part
is coming home.

shadow and light
the grays of cloud and shade
bring about sun shining bright the day
as the summer night has all but faded
into black
suggesting sleep
though memories may repeat
somewhere there is a blessing
deep in the heart
a caress

nest made up of twigs & mud and leaves
for baby birds nestling close to their mama to receive
nourished by the worms and bugs they're so fond of before she leaves
aren't we just like the baby birds working out our karma?
protected from the elements by the one who loves and warms us

hear the whisper of the wind
be true-protect
reach out for help-don't be afraid
keep cool-you are perfect as God intended

life can be tough without the gentle touch from someone who loves you so much
good shepherd hear my prayer and bear with me as i weep.

9-12-08
red fairy flitting through the autumn mist
every whirling swirling sound
consecutive expletives in seconds falling down
tumbling to the ground
Pensive memory happens fantastic
a last past chance is found
perceive a leaf adrift in wind
of seasons lifted spin
dear spirit where you been?
is solitude a sin?
you lose some some you win
though light may darken the way turn dim
attempts to start over but where to begin?
