I used to paint to try to please others - I'm still doing that. Been painting on and off since 1978-79--had a field day in my parents Larchmont NY back yard painting on their lawn-spray paint was my medium of choice-it glimmered and dazzled on the canvas as it fell through the air-it was the beginning of my love affair with painting.

Dabbled with print-making and pottery for a score of years, with two fine mentors and rooms filled with peers-then before i knew it i somehow lost the next ten years-when one fine day between my rye toast and scrambled eggs, My mom asked Colin Ambrose "How can my daughter get a show"? and he kindly said "bring in your portfolio"--i did just that and Colin requested me to paint local scenes, "they sell better" he said-and i did just that-had closing solo show at Estia Restaurant in Amagansett in May, 2001-sold 4 pieces-i felt very blessed.

It started for me in the fall of 2008-i stayed with my cat-just me and foggy-at my parents cottage on Gardners Bay-Painting and writing poems for almost 4 months-the family gave me space to think and create-i needed self-expression -i needed to be quiet and alone-almost total isolation except for the computer and phone.

My stint was up in January-back to my lovely home in Abrahams woods- i heard the voice of God say-"hey june you paint real good-i feel i channel my work given by a power greater than myself-i see my paintings as gifts from God-i am grateful and thankful for this very happy time in my life.

red fairy flitting through the autumn mist
every whirling swirling sound
consecutive expletives in seconds falling down
tumbling to the ground
Pensive memory happens fantastic
a last past chance is found
perceive a leaf adrift in wind
of seasons lifted spin
dear spirit where you been?
is solitude a sin?
you lose some some you win
though light may darken the way turn dim
attempts to start over but where to begin?
